JEE is an entrance exam attempted by almost 10 lakh students every year and being stressed about the exam is a common experience that each and every aspirant goes through every year. The exam is the first step that a student takes towards building a secure and promising career as an engineer.  Every student aims to clear JEE mains and then appear for JEE advanced to seek admission at premier institutions of India including the IITs and NITs.  Preparing for the exam includes being prepared mentally too which means gathering the mental strength to deal with exam pressure and stress.  Students make silly mistakes when they let stress overpower them and thereby it is suggested that apart from covering and revising the exam syllabus, aspirants should prepare themselves to handle the pressure that is associated with JEE.

Here are some tips that can help aspirants in dealing with the exam pressure and building mental strength-

1. Meditating- mediation simply means having control over breathing.  By meditating, students can train their minds and body to stay calm in stressful situations.  Meditating helps in dealing with stress and builds the mental ability of a person.  Students should learn the art of meditating and practice the same daily to build their mental abilities.

2. Exercising- exercising helps not only in staying fit but also helps in dealing with stress and anxiety.  Aspirants should spare at least half-hour to either walking or exercising.  Exercising can also help in increasing the level of concentration and freshens up the mind.  This can be something that students can do for breaking the monotony and rejuvenating.

3. Proper sleep- sleeping properly can help to focus better and results in the refreshing of mind. It has been observed that a well-slept candidate performs better in comparison to the one who is sleep-deprived.  Sleeping helps in retaining the information in a better way.  On exam day, a fresh mind will be able to concentrate better and thereby perform better.

4. Maintaining a distance from negativity- aspirants should not let the negative thoughts and comments of others affect their level of preparedness and confidence.  Trusting the preparation and abilities is something that aspirants should focus on.

5. Positive affirmation- aspirants should make themselves realize that they have worked hard for the examination day and they will perform to the best of their abilities.  Being confident is required to overcome the exam stress.

6. Playing mind games- there are different games that aspirants can play to strengthen their abilities and build mental strength.  Solving a rubrics cube and playing chess can help in improving concentration power.

We understand that it’s easier said than done, but students should not let anything stand in the way of the exam and their abilities.  They should take all possible measures to prepare themselves for the exam.  The above-mentioned simple things can help students in achieving the same and perform well.
